Since the founding of LIW, first initiative "Meals For Christmas." Important changes have occurred. TGNC People of Color health has become a more widely understood topic, gender diversity has become visible, and TGNC People of Color communities have grown in number and strength. During the COVID-19 pandemic months, Life is Work recognized multiple gaps in services/programming specific to transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) communities of color. living on Chicago's westside. Life Is Work has cultivated strategic partnerships with local housing Experts and medical provides to address these gaps in services. Across the Chicagoland area by linking 400 black and brown trans-identified individuals to much-needed resources and services.
Is to Utilizes Workforce Development, a Day Labor Model that offers participants of the program the opportunity to gain income while learning life skills through our Solidarity Resale Store. The Resale Store is the catalyst to providing equitable opportunities, while providing Job Training, Job Placement, Health and Housing Stability.
is to bring awareness to all Communities to be more responsive to the needs and interests of marginalized communities, specifically Black and Brown TGNC Communities . We are committed to mobilizing resources to offer robust and sustainable programming to TGNC and all Communities of Color seeking help.
